Feel like chatting with other Candi fans? You're welcome to join us at ! on both the regular list and the digest version. Despite the fact there were no new Candi dolls in 1999 and 2000, the people at CandiChat are for real. You may find us a very friendly, personal group of doll collectors.
I have put up this site just because I like Candi Girl dolls. Have fun viewing the pictures and reading the "sweet story of Candi". Click on the pictures for a larger view of each.
I didn’t know anything about the dolls at the time and it was only later that I discovered Charice’s predecessor Candi. Candi, originally called Candy was the creation of Helena Hamilton. You can read a short early history of Candi . Later on Helena Hamilton met Paul David who was selling fashion dolls by mail order and this led to a collaboration with his business partner MiKelman who subsequently designed the faces and hair styles of the later Candi dolls.
After the partnership with Hamilton Designs ended MiKelman went on to design the Charice dolls. Like the Candi dolls the range included Asian, African American and Hispanic dolls as well as Caucasian ones.
