  • While there are a few little complaints I have about the Leapster Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines Game, overall, I'm thrilled with how much time my son is willing to spend working on educational concepts while playing his "video game" and I'm getting more on board with the concept as a result. I highly recommend the Leapster Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines Game to any little fans.

  • My son received three games for Christmas, and my daughter another three for her birthday, and yet Leapster Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines Game is the one they both keep going back to. My six-year-old daughter likes the simple math problems and making track layouts, and my almost-four-year-old son just likes , period, and likes getting tickets to activate all his favorite engines.

The last activity on the Leapster Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines Game cartridge is "The Train Depot" in which players can use the tickets they have accumulated to activate engines, add track, and add structures to a layout of Sodor, then travel around the island using the items "bought" with the tickets.

One of the games you will find on Leapster Thomas & Friends: Calling All Engines Game is "Harold's Barrels" in which Harold the Helicopter hovers over the water picking up barrels to spell words requested by the narrator. Each barrel has a letter, and some barrels have extra fuel to keep the game going longer (before Harold has to land) and some barrels have bonus tickets. Another game is "Cranky's Cargo" which has similar mechanics, but asks that the player line up crates in numerical order on the train. Both games have timed limits.
