The LEGO City Helicopter Surveillance 60046 set is part of the January 2014 LEGO City sets wave, although I expect to see the set pop up for sale sometime in early/mid-December 2013. I’ll post an update to this site and also to once the set pops up for sale, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re wanting to pick up the Helicopter Surveillance LEGO City set before its official release date!
LEGO has just announced their latest exclusive set, , at the LEGO Fan Weekend in Skærbæk, Denmark. This set replaces two previous LEGO Maersk ships, the 10152 Maersk Sealand Container Ship and the 10155 Maersk Container Ship. The set is scheduled to be released in January 2014, contains 1,518 bricks and will retail for US$149.99 and UK£109.99.
While the main portion of this set is (obviously) the LEGO Police Helicopter, that’s not to say that it’s the only good part of the set. In fact, what makes Helicopter Surveillance one of my favorite LEGO City 2014 sets is the fact that every “chunk” that makes up this 528 pieces set feels cool and worthwhile to me. I especially like the LEGO policeman minifigure that is having a stakeout by hiding in a barrel. The idea of the cop in a barrel staking out the joint is hilarious and has the kooky LEGO humor feel to it that I love so much.
Presenting the largest ship in the world – the record-breaking Maersk ‘Triple-E.’ Built from over 1,500 bricks, the model recreates the real vessel in amazing detail. Our LEGO® designers have included rare colors such as medium azur, dark red, sand blue and sand green. There are rotating gold-colored screw blades leading to the brick-built twin propeller engines, which you can view through the window built into the port side of the ship. You can even customize it by adding or removing the containers. This authentic set includes a display stand and fact plaque with detailed information about the ship and, as a finishing touch, there’s the gold coin that is added under the mast of all Maersk Line ships for good luck on their voyages. This model is perfect for LEGO fans!
