A year ago, last summer - I lucked into one of the most awesome garage sales ever. It was a woman who had run a home-based daycare for just about a year, but who was moving and getting out of the daycare business and selling everything. I happened to get there early, purely out of luck (I was driving home from the grocery store), and I struck gold. One of my many finds that day was this Lego Preschool Playtable. The assembled table was in pristine condition and she had kept the box and had it filled with more bricks. She also threw in a medium sized plastic tote full of more bricks with the table. I got this $20 table for any unbelievable $5 with all the extra blocks. I just knew that my then 2 1/2 year old would be elated, thrilled... you get the picture. I got it home, cleaned it off with an antibacterial wipe (even though it looked as though she already had done so), and the building began!
The Lego Preschool Playtable is a slightly updated version of their , with a new name, packaging and slightly chunkier styling - though essentially the same product. The playtable normally sells for around $20 and includes a very small starter set (18 pieces) of Duplo sized bricks [in primary colors].
